How to get to Hagia Sophia from the airport?
Transportation from Istanbul International Airport is undertaken by two bus companies, Havaist Buses and İETT public buses. However, since IETT buses serve less popular areas of the city, only Havaist services offer a direct connection to the famous Sultanahmet.
Therefore, you can always take the IETT H-2 or H-9 buses, but you will also need to use other bus and metro lines to reach your main destination. On the other hand, luxury Havaist buses (HVIST-12) will drop you off at Beyazıt Square or Aksaray metro stop, close to Sultanahmet Square, in approximately 90 minutes (depending on traffic congestion).
The fares of public buses and Havaist services are generally low.
We hope you have a fantastic time exploring Ayasofya and experiencing the rich history of Istanbul!
